Overview

Nestled in the historic heart of Naples, at Via Giudecca Vecchia, 39, Pizzeria De' Figliole offers a genuine taste of traditional Neapolitan fried pizza. This quaint pizzeria, known primarily for its fried pizza varieties like Pizza Fritta Con Soffritto, Pizza Fritta Con Melanzane, and the indulgent Pizza Fritta Nutella, captures the essence of local culinary heritage with each bite.

The true star here is the fried pizza—a crispy, golden delight that stands apart from the classic wood-fired pies Naples is famous for. Signature dishes such as the Pizza Napoli and the cheese-and-tomato laden Provola e Pomodoro highlight the use of fresh, regional ingredients like ripe tomatoes, aromatic garlic, olives, and savory anchovies. These robust flavors come together to create a satisfying and authentic experience that appeals to both locals and visitors.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere is simple and unpretentious. The space reflects a low-key, community-driven vibe where local patrons gather to enjoy hearty meals paired with affordable wines served in plastic cups or a cold birra. The pizzeria’s modest charm is amplified by warm interactions with the staff, despite occasional moments of brusqueness, which some see as part of the authentic, no-frills experience.

As an easily accessible spot near Naples' central railway station in the Forcella neighborhood, it draws a crowd seeking honest, flavorful fried pizza without the tourist rush. The ability to sit and eat in relative calm adds to the overall appeal, making it a perfect destination for those who want to savor traditional Neapolitan street food in a relaxed setting.

For visitors eager to explore the full breadth of local pizza culture—from classic to deeply fried—Pizzeria De' Figliole stands out as a must-visit. Its dedication to preserving the fried pizza craft, combined with its authentic ambiance, makes it a treasured gem in Naples’ bustling culinary landscape.

The best fried pizza that I've tasted in Naples, the place is simple and authentic, and best of all, you can sit and eat in peace and not have to wait for a very long time. The pizza frita with the sitting cost me 8 euro. I've attached a picture of the menu and the fried pizza

A truly local place, low key and straightforward. A local crowd, wine served in plastic cups, and some fried pizzas to choose from. Surprisingly, we enjoyed the pizza here more than at any other place in Naples, and we tried a good number. If I can only return to a single pizzeria in Naples, this will be it.

Extensive googling unearthed this as a popular place to try fried pizza. The lasagne fried pizza was out of this world but the atmosphere seems very much mainly a local kind of vibe. The lady that served us was somewhat abrasive, didn't inform us of the costs of the water we accepted the offer of and when bringing the pizzas, just slammed them down and walked off.

As soon as I arrived in Naples today at 2 pm I had a pizza at the historic pizzeria De' Figliole. It is located in the older part of Naples. Forcella, that's the name of the neighborhood, ten minutes walk from the main Naples railway station. Pizza was delicious. It was made with fresh vegetables, garlic, olives and anchovies. Friendly atmosphere of the owner and the waitress. I will go there again and again.

Very delicious fried pizza. There was a line at door for takeaway but few tables still available inside so no waiting for us. The service was very good. Again plastic cups…
